Admission Requirements for UCLA

Hello everyone! I'm a high school junior and aiming for UCLA. Can anyone let me in on the specifics of the admission requirements of UCLA? Much appreciated!

Sure, happy to help out with your question. Getting into UCLA, like any other top tier college, is a competitive process. Here's a brief rundown of what you'll need to prepare:

1. High School Transcript: You need to have completed your A-G coursework with a minimum of 15 courses in history, English, mathematics, science, language, visual and performing arts, etc. Try to aim for a strong, unweighted GPA, preferably a 4.0 or above.

2. Personal Insight Questions: Applicants are asked to answer four out of eight available personal insight questions. This is your opportunity to showcase your personality, experiences, and skills on a much deeper level.

3. Activities and Awards: The application will also ask for your involvement in several areas like career-oriented programs, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, etc. Aim for impressive and relevant activities and awards. Remember that quality trumps quantity.

4. PIQs and Resume/CV: The UC application also requires you to submit a supporting resume that lists out your extracurricular activities, recognitions, and achievements.

Being test-blind for the 2024-2025 application cycle, UCLA will not be looking at SAT or ACT scores at all. Keep in mind, though, that these are simply the basic admission requirements. UCLA is known for its holistic review process which means that along with the mentioned factors, admissions officers consider other elements as well such as your potential contribution to their community.

Hope this information helps you get a better understanding of UCLA's admission requirements, and good luck on your applications!
