Hey y'all, has anyone got any recent data on average SAT scores for accepted students at Georgetown? I've checked their website and stuff, but couldn't find anything up-to-date. It's my dream school, so I just wanna make sure I'm within their range. Suggestions on what to aim for would be nice!
Sure, I can certainly help with this! Although specific numbers for the current year might not be readily available, Georgetown University typically attracts students with strong academic profiles. For the Class of 2024 (the most recent class for which data is currently available), the middle 50% for the SAT ranged from 1430 to 1570.
Keep in mind a strong SAT score is necessary, but not sufficient on its own to assure admission. Georgetown, like many selective schools, practices a holistic review, where they evaluate applicants based on different factors.
That being said, I'd suggest you aim for 1570 or above to be on the top end of recently admitted students. Of course, if your score falls within the middle 50% range, that will still put you in good standing. Do your best to excel beyond test scores - including maintaining strong grades, showcasing leadership in extracurricular activities, and crafting compelling essays. Good luck with your applications!
