How to change early decision on Common App?

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the college application process, and I think I messed up. I just submitted my Common App for an early decision school, but I realized I want to change my early decision selection to a different college. Is there any way to change my early decision choice on the Common App after submitting? Please help!

I totally understand how the pressure of college applications can lead to moments of uncertainty or second thoughts. Typically, once an Early Decision (ED) application has been submitted, the commitment to attend if admitted is considered binding, and it's not possible to simply change your ED selection through the Common App to another institution. However, don't stress out just yet. Here's what you can do:

Firstly, reach out immediately to the admission office of the school you originally applied to. You'll need to explain your situation and request to withdraw your ED application. If they haven't reviewed your application yet, they may be able to accommodate your request. If you receive permission to withdraw your application, you can then reach out to the admission office of the college you now wish to apply to ED and discuss your circumstances.

Keep in mind that some schools have ED II (a second round of early decision), which might be an option if the deadlines haven't passed. However, the most crucial step at this point is to contact the admissions offices as soon as possible. Good luck, and remember that it's important to communicate clearly and honestly in situations like these.
