Typical SAT scores for Georgetown admissions?

Georgetown University is on my college list, and I'm trying to figure out if my SAT score is in line with what they typically expect. Does anyone know what the average SAT score for admitted students at Georgetown is? Thanks a ton!

Sure, I can provide some insight into the typical range of SAT scores for Georgetown University.

Georgetown is one of the most competitive universities in the country, and students admitted to Georgetown typically have very high SAT scores. As of some of the latest data, the middle 50% SAT score for admitted students ranged from about 1390 to 1530. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 1390, and 25% scored above a 1530.

Staying within this range increases your chances of admission since the university might see you as academically qualified. However, do keep in mind that Georgetown takes a holistic approach in admission, examining other components such as your coursework, extracurriculars, and essays as well.

I should mention, though, that you're more than your standardized test scores. Even if your score is a bit below the middle 50% range, compelling elements in other parts of your application can tip the balance in your favor. Additionally, many colleges are moving to test-optional policies due to the pandemic so the significance of SAT scores can vary year to year. It's always best to look at the latest admission policies on the university's official website. Best of luck with your application!
