SAT Requirements at the University of South Florida

Hello all! I hope everyone's doing fine. Has anyone applied to the University of South Florida before? I've been trying to understand what their SAT requirements are. Would appreciate any info!

Hello there! The testing requirements have been changing quite a bit due to the impacts of Covid-19, so it's always a good idea to check directly with the school for the most current information. However, as of the 2024-2025 admissions cycle, the University of South Florida (USF) is test-optional. This means that you have the option to submit SAT or ACT scores, but they are not required.

But if you still want to submit your SAT score, for context, the middle 50% range of SAT scores for the entering class in recent years has typically been between 1140-1330. This means that 25% of enrolled students scored below 11140, while another 25% scored above 1330.

Remember though, test-optional does not mean test-blind - if you choose to submit test scores, they will be considered as part of your application. So if you have strong scores, it could definitely still be to your advantage to submit them!

Just keep in mind that the scores are just one part of the admissions process. The university also considers your academic performance in high school, leadership experiences, extracurricular activities, and your application essays.

Good luck with your application! If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
