The average PSAT score?

Hey, guys! I just gave my PSAT and am trying to decipher my scores. Anyone got an idea about what the average PSAT score is? This will help me understand where I stand. Thanks a bunch!

Hello! Sure, I can help with that. The average PSAT score is typically said to be around 920-940, out of a maximum possible score of 1520. This score is accumulated by combining the two sections of the test: Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math, where an individual can score anywhere from 160-760 in each.

However, remember that a 'good' score can vary depending on your personal goals. If you're aiming to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program, for instance, you'd need a considerably higher score, usually above the 1400 mark.

Keep in mind, though, that the PSAT is primarily a preparatory test for the actual SAT. So focusing on areas where you struggled and working to improve in those areas can be just as beneficial as aiming for a high score. It's a useful tool for identifying your strengths and weaknesses ahead of the SAT. I hope this helps clear out some of your doubts!
