Details on SAT Fee?

Hey guys, planning to take the SAT. Just wondering, how much does it cost to take the SAT exam? And, are there any fee waivers available?

Definitely, I can help with this! Registering for the SAT costs $68. This fee covers your participation in the test and the sending of your scores to up to 4 colleges or universities.

If you want to send your scores to more than four institutions, you'll be charged an additional $14 for each one. This adds up, so it's a good idea to have a clear plan on where to send your scores.

Remember the SAT does not have an essay section anymore. So, you don't have to pay an additional fee for that since it was discontinued in 2021.

As for fee waivers, yes, they are available! Fee waivers are provided to students who meet certain eligibility requirements. These usually involve being enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), being part of a family whose income is within the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s Income Eligibility Guidelines, being enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that helps students from low-income families, or being eligible for public assistance.

If you're eligible, you can get your SAT registration costs covered, as well as the fees for sending your scores to extra colleges beyond the initial four. Just speak to your school counselor about obtaining a fee waiver.
