Hey guys! I'm starting to prep for the PSAT coming up in a little bit and I wanted to ask if anyone here has reliable sources for PSAT example questions? I've found a couple resources online, but they seem all over the place. Also, are these example questions a good reflection of what will be on the real test?
Absolutely, practicing with reliable example questions and utilizing authentic resources is a great strategy for preparing for the PSAT. One of the best sources for PSAT example questions would be through College Board. They are the organizers of the PSAT and offer practice booklets with realistic questions similar to what you might encounter on the actual test.
Another resource you might find helpful is the Bluebook™ app. This app allows you to preview the digital PSAT/NMSQT and take a full-length practice test. It's an excellent tool for getting familiar with the structure and the format of the digital PSAT/NMSQT, which as of 2024 is comprised of two 32-minute Reading and Writing modules and two 35-minute Math modules.
Working with these example questions can certainly help give you an idea of what to expect on the test day. Plus, they allow you to identify your strengths and weaknesses, so you know where to focus your time and energies. Just remember that while it's great to practice these situations and questions, the most important part of preparing for the PSAT is understanding the underlying content. So in addition to PSAT example questions, make sure you're also studying the skills and knowledge you need to succeed on the test.
It's also important to time yourself while using these practice resources to mimic the real test conditions as closely as possible. You'll be dealing with around 71 seconds per question in the Reading and Writing sections and about 96 seconds per question in the Math sections, so consistently practicing with real-time restrictions is key to performing well.
Good luck with your PSAT preparations!
