Minimum GPA for San Diego State?

I'm really interested in applying to San Diego State, but I haven't been able to find much information about their GPA requirements. Can anyone shed some light on what kind of GPA they typically look for in applicants?

San Diego State University, like many universities, doesn't set a strict minimum GPA for admissions. They use a holistic approach to consider multiple factors in your application, including class rigor, extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, and more.

However, to give you some context, the average high school GPA for freshmen admitted to San Diego State for 2024 was 3.86 on a weighted scale. So competitive applicants typically have high GPAs, but remember that a lower GPA does not necessarily mean you can't be admitted. This is especially true if you've challenged yourself with rigorous coursework (AP, IB, etc.), have significant achievements in your extracurricular activities, or have other compelling aspects in your application.

Lastly, remember that coming fall 2024-2025 application cycle, San Diego State, like other Cal State schools, will remain test-blind, which means they won't take into consideration SAT or ACT scores. So focusing on maintaining a solid GPA along with robust involvement in extracurriculars can benefit your application.
