Fellow students, I've got the SAT coming up and I'm trying to prepare myself mentally as well as academically. Can anyone tell me how long the test itself lasts?
The digital SAT, which began in Spring 2024, has a duration of 134 minutes in total. This includes two sections: Reading and Writing, and Math.
For the Reading and Writing section, it consists of two 32-minute modules, to complete a total of 54 questions. So, on average this gives you about 71 seconds per question.
On the other hand, the Math section comprises of two 35-minute modules, to tackle 44 questions. This equates to around 96 seconds per question, or just over a minute and a half.
Remember to take into account some time for the instructions, breaks, and any technical setup required for the digital format. It's also always a good idea to arrive early to your testing location to allow for any unexpected delays. Best of luck with your preparation!
