What SAT Score for Purdue?

Hey everyone, I'm really hoping to get into Purdue and I was wondering if anyone here knows what kind of SAT score they require? Also, how strict is that requirement?

Purdue University is no longer test-optional and requires all applicants to submit an SAT or ACT score for the 2024-2025 application cycle.

Now, according to the most recent data, the middle 50% SAT range for admitted students is around 1210-1450. This means that 25% of applicants admitted scored below 1210 and 25% scored above 1450. If your score falls in or above this range, you would be considered competitive for Purdue.

However, having a score below this range does not mean admission is impossible. Your SAT score is just one part of the application, and Purdue, like most universities, employs a holistic review process. This means they also consider factors such as your high school GPA, class rigor (like AP or IB classes), extracurriculars, leadership roles, personal essays, and letters of recommendation. These elements can offset a lower SAT score.

In terms of how strict the SAT requirement is, although Purdue requires the scores, they won't necessarily disqualify you based on a low score alone. However, a stronger SAT score could potentially strengthen your application, especially if other areas of your application are less strong.
