Current acceptance rate for Out-of-State students at Ole Miss?

I've been looking at Ole Miss as an out-of-state applicant and I'm worried about my chances. What's the acceptance rate for out-of-state students? Is it considerably tougher to get in if you're not from Mississippi?

The acceptance rate at the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, is relatively high compared to other universities. The overall acceptance rate is around 97%, and this figure applies to both in-state and out-of-state applicants. While some state schools do have a rate differential between in-state and out-of-state applicants, Ole Miss is not one of those.

It's essential to remember though, that acceptance rate is just a number and does not fully capture the selectivity of the admissions process. You should also consider other factors like GPA, course rigor, standardized test scores (if submitting), and extracurricular activities. Even though the acceptance rate is high, this doesn't mean that every application receives an acceptances.

For Ole Miss, the middle 50% ACT score range for admitted students is 21-29, and the average GPA is 3.6. For the most competitive chance of admission, you should aim to have a GPA and ACT score within these ranges, but above them wouldn't hurt either.

Lastly, remember to consider how well the school fits with your academic and career goals. Make sure the programs offered align with your interests and that you could see yourself thriving on the campus. Good luck with your application!
