Do NYU admissions review senior year grades?

Hi everyone! NYU is one of my top choices for college, and I'm currently in my junior year. My question is: will the admissions team at NYU look at my senior year grades or is their decision primarily based on my performance up until the end of junior year? I'm trying to figure out how to balance my workload and extracurriculars. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hello there! It's great to hear that you're thinking ahead about your senior year and how it plays into your application for NYU. From my experience working with students, I can confirm that NYU does consider senior year grades—particularly your first semester or trimester grades—if you're applying Regular Decision. If you're going for Early Decision I or II, your senior year first quarter or trimester grades will also be reviewed. It's always beneficial to maintain strong grades throughout your senior year to show a consistent level of academic excellence. As for balancing your workload and extracurriculars, it's key to ensure that you don't overextend yourself to the point where your grades might suffer. Prioritize your activities and focus on maintaining a solid GPA. Best of luck with your application!
