SAT requirements for NYU - any insights?

Hey fellow stress-buddies, I've got NYU in my sights. Do they have specific SAT score requirements I should be aware of? What's the average SAT score of the admitted students? Availability of this info would take some weight off my shoulders.

NYU is one of those test-optional schools for the 2024-2025 application cycle, meaning you're not required to submit your SAT scores as part of your application. So, while SAT scores can enhance an application, not having them won't disadvantage you.

However, to provide a perspective should you choose to submit your scores, the 25th percentile SAT score is typically around 1470, while the 75th percentile SAT score is around 1560. This information is based on pre-2020 data, as newer data considering NYU's test-optional policy is not publicly available.

Keep in mind, though, that the score alone won't make or break your application. NYU will consider your entire application including your GPA, the rigor of your academic curriculum, essays, recommendation letters, and extracurricular activities. All these factors are taken into account in the admissions process.

It's great to aim for a solid SAT score, but don't forget to pay attention to other aspects of your application as they're equally important.
