What's the GPA requirement to get into UGA?

Hi peeps! Just a quick question - anyone know what kind of GPA I'd need to get into UGA? Like, what's competitive? It doesn't have to be exact, just trying to gauge things. I'm currently sitting on a 3.6 unweighted. Should I take more AP's or something? Thanks!

When it comes to University of Georgia (UGA), they're known for a fairly comprehensive review process, particularly when it comes to GPA and academic rigor. It's hard to pin down an exact number for a "competitive" GPA, as they consider more than just the numbers, but generally speaking, most admitted UGA students have GPAs upward of 3.8 unweighted.

Now, regarding your question about APs, taking more could help not only possibly increase your GPA, but also show UGA that you're challenging yourself with a rigorous course load. But it's also essential to find a balance. College admissions look at the context - they want to see that you've taken challenging courses but also that you're able to handle them successfully.

As for your current GPA, a 3.6 is still solid. But if UGA is a top choice for you, it couldn't hurt to consider trying to elevate it by taking challenging (but manageable classes), developing good study habits, and really applying yourself in your remaining high school years. Remember that academic achievement is a big factor, but UGA also highly values personal qualities, involvement, and leadership in extracurricular activities. So don't neglect those aspects of your application. It's all about creating a well-rounded profile that reflects you and your abilities in the best light possible. Good luck!
