WSU GPA Requirements

Hi guys, thinking about applying to Washington State University. Anyone have any details about WSU's GPA requirements? Are they a lot different for in-state vs. out-of-state applicants? Thanks in advance!

Hello! For Washington State University (WSU), the average GPA for admitted students is approximately 3.4 to 3.8. However, it's important to remember that GPAs can't fully determine the likelihood of your acceptance since WSU looks at an application holistically. This means they also take into consideration your coursework rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and other aspects of your application in addition to your GPA.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any substantial difference in the GPA requirements for in-state and out-of-state students. Those categories typically come into play more for tuition costs and potentially some scholarships.

Good luck with your application! Remember, a slightly lower GPA can also be offset by strong extracurriculars or compelling essays. And similarly, a higher GPA does not guarantee admission if other parts of your application are not as strong. It's all about creating a balanced and dynamic profile as a whole!
