Ranking of CUNY schools?

Hi there, I'm currently doing my research into different colleges, and I'm particularly interested in the CUNY system. I just wanted to know, does anyone know how the CUNY schools are ranked compared to each other? Thanks!

Hello! That's a great question. Remember that rankings can vary based on the criteria used, and different rankings may emphasize different aspects of the university experience (e.g., academics, student life, resources).

However, based on general consensus and academic resources, Baruch College, Hunter College, and Queens College are often considered among the top institutions within the CUNY system, as they all have strong programs in a variety of academic fields. City College, with its remarkable engineering program, is another standout institution within the CUNY system.

But here's a valuable qualifier: the "best" college isn't necessarily the one with the highest ranking. It really depends on what you're studying and what you're looking for in a college experience. For example, if you're interested in a particular major or program, one CUNY college might be stronger in that area than another. A school could be lower ranked overall, but be especially strong in the areas that matter most to you.

Beyond rankings, you'll want to consider factors such as programs of interest, location, campus culture, resources, and opportunities for research or internships. But hopefully, you find this initial overview helpful!
