University of North Texas GPA requirements

I'm researching the University of North Texas as a potential college. What are their GPA requirements? Do they place more emphasis on class rank, or is GPA the main factor in their admissions process?

The University of North Texas (UNT) considers both GPA and class rank for admission. For incoming freshmen, UNT has an automatic admissions program based on rank and GPA. Texas residents who rank in the top 10% of their high school class are granted automatic admission, regardless of scores. One nice aspect of UNT's admission policy is that they're not just focused on numbers, but consider your entire high school record, including the rigor of your classes.

If you don't meet the assured admissions criteria (which includes being in the top 15% of your class, having a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in required coursework, and meeting minimum SAT/ACT scores), UNT conducts a holistic review of your application. As part of this review, your GPA and class rank will be important, but so will factors such as your essay, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.

Try to keep your GPA high and take challenging courses to demonstrate your dedication to academics. However, also remember to focus on other aspects of your profile such as extracurriculars to enhance your chances of admission if your application is reviewed holistically. It's always beneficial to showcase your passion, commitment, and growth outside of just your academic achievements.

It is also recommended to verify the most recent admission requirements with UNT's official website or contact the admissions office directly, as they might be subject to changes.
