Requesting SAT Scores?

Quick question for everyone: I got my SAT scores and was wondering how does the sending process work? Does the college I apply to request them, or do I need to send them myself? Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

After receiving your SAT scores, the responsibility generally falls on you to send your scores to the colleges you're applying to. Here's how it typically works:

The College Board is the organization that administers the SAT. When you take the test, you have the option to send four score reports for free. You can select these colleges when you register for the SAT or up to nine days after the test at no cost. If you're not sure yet where you want to apply when you take the test, or if you want to send scores to more than four colleges, you can still send your scores later for a fee.

To send your scores, you'll sign into your College Board account and use the Score Sending Tool to select which colleges should receive your scores. Keep in mind it takes approximately 10 days for a college to receive your scores once you've placed your order. Plan accordingly so that your scores arrive before the application deadline.

Remember that some schools allow you to self-report your test scores on your application and then send the official score report if you are admitted and decide to enroll. Always check the testing policies of the particular schools to see if this option is available.

Lastly, there are a few colleges that want to see all of the scores from each and every test sitting. Most colleges, however, don't require this and allow you to use Score Choice, which means you can choose specific SAT test results to send to colleges.
