What does Northwestern University's application demand?

Hey there, I've started looking into Northwestern University as one of my top choices and want to make sure I understand their application requirements thoroughly. Does anyone know the specifics about what they ask for in an application?

For the Northwestern University application, here's what you'll need to provide:

1. Common Application or Coalition Application: Northwestern accepts both of these platforms. You'll complete the general sections with your demographic details, academic information, and personal essay. Both systems also include a supplementary essay for Northwestern.

2. Supplement Essay: This essay is mandatory for all applicants and is Northwestern-specific. It asks you about why you're interested in Northwestern's programs and community.

3. High School Transcript or School Report: Your counselor should submit your high school transcript, detailing your coursework and grades. Northwestern also accepts the School Reports, which includes various details about your high school and counselor's assessment about you.

4. Letter(s) of Recommendation: Northwestern requires one counselor and one teacher recommendation. The teacher recommendation should ideally come from a core academic subject teacher who has taught you in an academic subject area during your junior or senior year. However, if a teacher from another year works better for you, feel free to use that recommendation.

5. Standardized Test Scores: Northwestern University requires standardized test scores be sent directly by the testing agency if you are submitting them. For the 2024-2025 application cycle, Northwestern is still test-optional.

6. Mid-Year Seniors Grades Report/Transcript: Upon completion of the first semester or first trimester of your senior year, you will need to submit a report/transcript of your grades.

Bear in mind that the Early Decision deadline is November 1st, while the Regular Decision deadline is January 3rd. Lastly, as in any application, you should always double-check each requirement on the school's official website to ensure accuracy.
