What are ASU's Entrance Requirements?

Y'all, I need some help. I've been looking at Arizona State University lately and gotta say, I'm totally confused about their entrance requirements. So, if anyone has any info on this, could you please share? Would be super grateful.

Arizona State University (ASU) prides itself on its inclusivity and its designation as a university that measures its success by who it includes rather than by who it excludes.

To maintain this philosophy, ASU has fairly flexible admission requirements. There isn't a set cutoff for GPA or standardized test scores. Instead, ASU practices a "comprehensive review" of all applications.

Your high school coursework, grades, and the strength of your curriculum are all factors that are considered in the application process. Generally speaking, they want to see that you have taken a challenging curriculum in your high school years and performed well in those classes.

In terms of explicit coursework completion requirements, they include:

- 4 years of English or ESL

- 4 years of Math which must include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and an advanced math.

- 3 years of lab science. One year each from any of the following areas is accepted: biology, chemistry or physics, and an advanced course.

- 2 years of social sciences. Must include one year of American History.

- 2 years of a same foreign language.

- 1 year of fine arts or one year of a Career and Technical Education.

An SAT or ACT score was previously required, but ASU has moved to a test-optional model. This means you can choose whether or not to submit standardized test scores with your application.

Finally, some majors or programs may have additional requirements, so make sure to check their specific departmental webpages. For example, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts have additional requirements for certain programs. You can learn more about admissions requirements here: https://admission.asu.edu/apply/first-year/admission.

It's best to aim high in terms of GPA and course rigor to increase your chances of admission even though there's no set minimum. Good luck with your application process!
