What's the largest private university in the USA?

Hey all, I've been looking at universities and have been curious about how large the biggest private university in the US is, both in terms of campus size and student population. Does anyone know, or know where I could find this information? Thanks in advance for the help!

The University of Southern California (USC) currently holds the title as the largest private university in the United States, in terms of student population. USC has two primary campuses, the University Park Campus in Los Angeles, and the Health Sciences Campus about 2 miles northeast, spanning approximately 226 and 79 acres respectively. The student body is quite large, with a total student population of over 47,000, which includes both undergraduate and graduate students.

For comparison, New York University (NYU) also has a large student body with a total headcount of over 50,000. However, it's important to note that NYU's figure includes students studying at their campuses abroad. If we're strictly considering domestic student population, USC still holds the status as the largest private university in the US.

Remember, though, that the size of a school doesn’t necessarily correlate with its quality or fit for you as a prospective student. It's essential to consider factors such as academic programs, faculty-to-student ratio, extracurricular opportunities, and campus culture when choosing a university. Consider visiting campuses (virtually or in person), speaking with current students and faculty, and using resources like CollegeVine's College Search tool to help narrow down your college list.
