Yo fellow college seekers! I'm just trying to figure out the average GPA of students who get into UIUC. I'm currently sitting at a 3.7 and wondering if I'm competitive. Has anyone got any info on this?
Hi there! The average GPA of accepted students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, or UIUC, typically falls between 3.65 and 4.0. This takes into account the weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale. These figures can of course vary with different batches, but at a glance, your GPA seems to be competitive for UIUC, as it's within the middle 50% range.
However, remember that GPA is only one part of your application. Other factors such as your SAT/ACT scores, extracurricular activities, essays, and recommendations also play key roles. Having a deep involvement in a few activities, known as a 'spike,' is highly appreciated over involvement in a multitude of activities.
As far as academics go, consider if you've taken a rigorous course load relative to what's available at your school, as this will also be considered in addition to your GPA.
Good luck with your application!
