Feeling a tad lost about UIC's GPA cut-offs

Been throwing my recruiters at UIC a whole lotta glances lately but struggling to find specifics on their GPA requirements. Does a consistent track record in the A/B zone give me a green light?

UIC, or the University of Illinois at Chicago, hasn't laid down explicit minimum GPA requirements. Wanting applicants to exhibit good academic promise is a common thread amongst universities, UIC is no exception.

Generally speaking though, when you look at the class profile, you can see that successful applicants have a fairly solid academic track record. The average high school GPA of admitted students tends to fall around 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). A student maintaining a consistent performance in the A/B zone would squarely land in this range, suggesting your chances of admission could be promising, assuming you meet other admission requirements as well.

That said, note that admission depends on other factors too, such as course rigor, standardized test scores (for those who choose to submit them), extracurricular activities, and the application essay, among others. GPA alone doesn't guarantee admission. Remember to present a well-rounded application package. The application essay in particular is a way for you to highlight compelling experiences and show your personality beyond grades and scores. It's always important to keep this in mind while planning out your application.
