SAT Cancellation Dilemma: How to Do It?

Hey, everyone! I signed up for an SAT test date, but now I have a conflict and can't make it. Can anyone guide me on how I can cancel my test or change the date? I don't want to lose the fees I've already paid. Would appreciate prompt responses, thanks!

Sure, I can guide you through the process! If you have an SAT test date scheduled and wish to cancel it, you can do so by contacting the College Board directly. Unfortunately, they do not refund your registration fee if you choose to cancel your exam. However, you do have the option to transfer your test to a different date for a fee.

To reschedule, log in to your account on the College Board website and find the 'Change Registration' option. You'll be able to select a new test date and pay the change fee. The change fee is typically less expensive than registering for an entirely new test, so this could be a better option for you if you're still planning on taking the exam at a later date.

Just be mindful of timing. If the SAT is less than five days away, you won't be able to transfer your registration to a new date. Similarly, with less than five days to go, you typically wouldn't be able to cancel either, although you could just not show up on test day. Again, though, there's no refund available under these circumstances.

All this said, it's always best to directly verify with the College Board, as their policies can sometimes change. Hope this helps!
