Interpreting ACT reading score

So, I think I did decent on my ACT reading section but I'm not quite sure? Anyone has a chart or something that could interpret the scores? I appreciate any help.

Sure, happy to help! The ACT Reading section is scored on the scale of 1-36, just like the other sections. Here's a simple way to interpret your ACT Reading score:

- A score of 33-36 is exceptional. It typically puts you in the top 1% of test takers.

- A score of 28-32 is great. You are performing well above average and this score will be competitive at most universities.

- A score of 24-27 is good. You are performing above average nationally.

- A score of 20-23 is average. This is around the median score most students receive.

- A score of 16-19 is below average. You are scoring less than a large portion of the students nationally.

- A score of 12-15 might need improvement to become competitive at a majority of universities.

- A score of 11 or below suggests a significant need for improvement.

Remember, the "goodness" of your score really depends on which schools you're aiming for. Each university has different score ranges they typically admit, and most universities share a middle 50% ACT range—meaning, 25% of admitted students score below this range, 50% of students score within it, and 25% of students score above it. You would want to find out what those ranges are for the schools on your list. Given that range, you can see where your scores fall and assess your academic competitiveness for specific institutions.
