Sup, everybody? I'm seriously considering applying to Rice University. To see where I might stand in terms of GPA, does anyone know what the typical GPA is for admitted students? I'm trying to assess if my grades put me in the competition. Thanks!
Hi there! Rice University is a highly competitive school and typically admits students with high academic performance. The average high school GPA of admitted students at Rice is about 3.96 on a 4.0 scale. Do remember, though, that GPA isn't the only factor Rice looks at; they also consider the rigor of your high school classes and other parts of your application, such as your extracurriculars and essays. If your GPA is lower than this average, it does not necessarily exclude you from admission. Anything above 3.5 is usually considered competitive, especially if you're also challenging yourself with AP or IB classes. Best of luck with your application!
