SAT Scores - How Important is the Essay?

Hello, fam! So, the essay isn't part of the SAT anymore, but some colleges I'm looking at recommend sending an SAT essay score anyway. How important is it really? Should I be stressing over it?

The SAT essay section was discontinued in 2021 which means, quite simply, you don’t have the option to take the SAT with an essay anymore. Therefore, colleges no longer expect or require, you to submit an SAT essay score. You can rest easy, relying on your coursework, teachers' recommendations, extracurricular activities, and personal essays to showcase your writing abilities.

However, it is always advisable to check the specific application requirements for each college to which you're applying. With the continuous changes in the college admissions landscape, some schools have nuanced approaches to different sections of standardized tests. But as it stands, the SAT essay is no longer an element of concern! Keep focusing on the other important aspects of your application. Your energy will be better spent maintaining your GPA, perhaps preparing for any AP tests if you're taking those classes, engaging deeply in a few extracurricular activities, and eventually, crafting compelling personal essays.
