Cost of AP exams - are they all the same?

I'm stressing a little bit over the cost of all the AP exams I want to take. Could anyone tell me the usual cost for an AP exam? Is there financial aid available? Also, are they all priced the same or does it vary by subject?

Hi there! It's great that you're planning ahead for your AP exams. As of the most recent updates, each AP exam costs $97 in the United States and $125 outside of the United States, not including additional late fees or other potential charges. The price is standard across all exam subjects, so you won't pay more or less for specific tests.

If you're concerned about the affordability of these exams, definitely look into the College Board’s AP Exam Fee Reduction Service. Eligible students can save on exam costs, reducing the fee to $53 per exam. Your school might also have additional funding to help cover the rest of the cost, so talk to your guidance counselor or AP coordinator. Additionally, some states offer subsidies that can reduce the fee further. Remember to inquire about these options well in advance of the exam registration dates!

Keep in mind that investing in these exams can pay off if you score well, as they can earn you college credits and potentially save on tuition later. Best of luck in your AP courses!
