What's the average ACT score for UNC admissions?

I'm hoping to apply to UNC Chapel Hill and was wondering what sort of ACT score they usually look for. Anyone aware of what the average admitted student's ACT score is? I just got my score back, but I'm not sure if I should plan on retaking.

As of the recent few years, the middle 50% range for ACT scores of admitted students at UNC Chapel Hill has been 28-34. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 28, while another 25% scored above a 34. The average would fall somewhere in the middle of this range.

If your score is within or higher than this range, it should be competitive for UNC Chapel Hill. However, it's also important to remember that standardized test scores are just one aspect of your application. Your coursework, GPA, extracurriculars, and essays are all significant factors in the admissions decision too. If you believe your ACT score doesn't reflect your academic potential, it could be worth retaking the test. But, if it's within the competitive range for UNC Chapel Hill and you feel good about the other components of your application, you might decide to stick with the score you have. It's all about how effectively your application presents you as a holistic candidate.
