Understanding SAT Structure

Hey all! I'm starting to plan my SAT study schedule but I'm kind of in the dark here. Can anyone break down how many questions are on the SATs? Are they evenly split between sections?

Sure, it's great you're working on understanding the SAT's structure as it can really help you plan your studying.

As of 2024, the SAT has transitioned to a fully digital format and the structure is slightly different from the paper version. Here's how the digital SAT is structured now:

Reading and Writing: The test is divided into two modules, each of 32 minutes, where you get to answer 54 questions. This gives you about 71 seconds for each question.

Math: This section also includes two modules, each of 35 minutes, for a total of 44 questions. That's about 96 seconds per question, or just a bit over a minute and a half.

The total duration of the digital SAT is 134 minutes, where you will complete 98 questions.

It's important to note that the Math section no longer has a 'no-calculator' section. So, yes, you can use your calculator for both modules in the Math section.

I hope this breakdown helps you in your studying, best of luck!
