Should I report a 2 on my AP exam to colleges?

Feeling a bit stressed out here, just got my AP exam results and I got a 2. I'm wondering if I should still report this score when applying to colleges, or would it hurt my application? Do colleges appreciate the effort of taking the course, or do they only care about scores of 3 and above?

Hello there! I understand that receiving a score like this can be unsettling. When it comes to reporting your AP scores, it's generally advisable to report scores of 3 or higher. Colleges are most interested in seeing scores that qualify for college credit, which are typically 3s, 4s, and 5s.

However, the fact that you challenged yourself by taking an AP course still shows your willingness to engage with rigorous coursework, which is a positive. You don't have to worry about the score of 2 being part of your official transcript, as AP scores don't usually appear there. You have the choice to report this score, but since it doesn't reflect a passing grade that could earn you college credit, it might be better to omit it from your college applications. Focus on highlighting other areas of your application where you've excelled. Best of luck with your college applications!
