What's the average GPA for admitted students at Harvard?

I'm a junior in high school, and I'm seriously considering applying to Harvard. I know it's a reach, but I want to make sure I'm at least within the ballpark GPA-wise. Can anyone on here share the average admitted student's GPA for Harvard? All the data I'm finding seems a little outdated. Thanks!

The average GPA of admitted students at Harvard is generally quite high, typically around a 4.2 out of 4.0. This sometimes fluctuates slightly from year to year but it's quite consistently in the 4.1 - 4.2 range. Keep in mind, however, that this is the average, so there are students who get in with lower GPAs, and those with higher ones.

A GPA is just one factor in the admissions evaluation process. But a strong GPA can demonstrate you've taken challenging coursework in high school and have done well, which can be indicative of your preparation for the rigorous academics at Harvard. Combine your GPA with significant extracurricular involvements, strong SAT/ACT scores, and impressive letters of recommendation and essay responses, and applications even to highly selective schools like Harvard become more compelling.

Also, remember to maintain balance - while it's good to aim high and have top colleges like Harvard on your list, also include "target" and "safety" schools where your numbers align more directly with their average admitted student profile. It helps ensure you'll have a place to go that aligns well with your academic abilities and goals.
