What's the maximum score I could get in TOEFL?

Hey everyone. I'm a junior planning to deck out my college apps to international colleges. I've been preping for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), but not quite sure what's the highest score I could aim for. Is there someone who has taken this test and could give me some insights? Thanks in advance!

For the TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test), which is the most commonly taken version, the maximum score you can achieve is 120. The test is divided into four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing, each of which are scored out of 30. Your total score is the summation of these four sections' scores.

Remember, most universities have minimum requirements for each section as well as for the total score. You should check the specific requirements of the colleges you're interested in applying to. Always aim for a score considerably above the minimum to leave a bit of a margin for error. Maintaining balance in all four sections is critical, as it can show your well-roundedness in English language skills.

Practice is essential for success in the TOEFL. There are numerous resources available for practice, including TOEFL's official guide and resources from organizations like ETS and CollegeVine. These resources will not only acquaint you with the types of questions asked, but also give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the exam's structure and timing.

Good luck with your preparation!
