Embry-Riddle requirements unclear

Hey, so I'm planning to apply to Embry-Riddle and I've seen the basic requirements listed on their site, but it seems a bit vague. Beyond the required GPA and test scores, does anyone know what else they look for in applicants, like specific academic achievements or extracurriculars?

Embry-Riddle, like many other institutions, considers a range of factors in their admissions process. While it's true that the exact weight behind each aspect can be a bit unclear, there are many facets that can strengthen an application.

1. Academic Performance: The university will take your academic performance into account, including your GPA, rigor of your high school coursework, and any advancements like AP or Dual Credit classes.

2. Test Scores: While Embry-Riddle is test optional, SAT or ACT scores can be submitted if you believe they will be beneficial to your application.

3. Personal Essay and Activities: Your application will also be evaluated on the basis of your personal statement, activities lists, or any additional information that you share in your application. Being specific about your passion and determination towards Aerospace or Aeronautics involvement, whether it be through internships, Extracurriculars like Model United Nations, Robotics club, etc., can be beneficial.

4. Letters of recommendation: Inviting counselors and teachers who know you well to speak to your abilities can also showcase your potential for success at Embry-Riddle.

In terms of extracurricular activities, Embry-Riddle values well-rounded individuals, and while they do not specify exact activities, they encourage students to discuss any leadership positions, community service, employment, and other involvements outside of an academic setting that demonstrate a commitment and skill in managing workloads. Coming from the college admissions perspective, consider those activities which align with your intended major, or set you apart from other applicants. For instance, if you have any aviation-related experiences, those would be worth highlighting.

However, it's the mix of all of these elements that makes your application strong. Embry-Riddle, like most universities, is interested in understanding you as a whole person, not just as a set of grades and test scores. They want to understand your experiences, interests, and aspirations. So make sure to keep all these points in mind and highlight them effectively in your application.

Please note that these are general points to consider. For more specific advice, it would be best to contact the admissions office directly, allowing them to provide information specific to your circumstances and their most current criteria.
