GPA requirements for Florida International University?

I'm seriously considering Florida International University when it comes time to apply to colleges. Anyone here knows about the GPA requirements of FIU? And should I focus more on maintaining my weighted or unweighted GPA? Appreciate any input.

Florida International University (FIU) has an average admitted student weighted GPA of 4.1. However, it's important to remember that this is not a cut-off and that the university does have a holistic review process.

In regards to your query about weighted or unweighted GPA, it's crucial to perform well in both. That being said, the weighted GPA can be particularly significant as it reflects the rigor of your course load. It's a clear indicator that you've not only earned high grades but also undertaken challenging coursework. Colleges, including FIU, value this because it demonstrates your ability to succeed in a rigorous academic environment.

In sum, maintain your unweighted GPA while simultaneously working to improve your weighted GPA by taking advanced-level courses such as honors, AP, IBC, or dual-enrollment classes. Remember, a good balance of a high GPA and challenging coursework will give you a stronger chance in the admissions process.

Keep up the good work and best of luck with your applications!
