Hello everyone! I'm kinda confused here. Does anyone in this community know the average SAT score of students who got into Bucknell? I’m also interested in knowing if they’re test-optional or if the SATs are a must. Would love some guidance on this!
Hello! Bucknell University is indeed test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means you are not obligated to submit your SAT or ACT scores as part of your application. However, if you feel that your SAT score strengthens your application or showcases your academic prowess, feel free to include it.
For reference, the middle 50% SAT scores of admitted students for Bucknell's previous cycles were typically around 1170-1360. That doesn't mean you need to have these scores to be admitted, it's simply a guide to understand the scores of half the students who were admitted. The other half fell outside this range, both higher and lower.
Just remember, though Bucknell is test-optional, they do give a close look to the other parts of your application like your GPA, high school curriculum rigor, essays, and extracurricular activities. They're interested in understanding your academic potential as well as who you are as a person and a student. If you choose not to submit your SAT scores, make sure that the other parts of your application speak well to these two aspects.
Good luck with your application!
