Hey guys, I'm planning on applying to Virginia Tech next year, but I'm not really sure about their SAT policy. Do they require applicants to take the SAT? Would really appreciate it if someone who knows or has been through the process could help me out!
Virginia Tech is test-optional for students entering through Fall 2025. On the application for admission, you will be able to select whether or not you would like your SAT or ACT scores to be reviewed as part of your application. They do not look at the Writing section of either test.
If you feel that your SAT scores accurately reflect your academic potential, you are welcome to include them. On the other hand, if you feel your scores do not represent your abilities or if for any reason you're unable to take the exam, your application will still be considered complete and receive a thorough review without them.
In deciding whether to submit scores, consider the context of your entire application, including your grades, course rigor, extracurricular involvement, and essays. Test scores are just one piece of the puzzle!
But please, be aware that policies can change from year to year, so it's always a good idea to double-check the admissions requirements on the school's official website or contact the admissions office directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
