How high does my GPA have to be for Stanford?

Hi everyone, bit stressed about all this college stuff. Specifically worried about Stanford University's expectations. Does anyone know what their typical GPA requirement is?

Stanford University is one of the most competitive college institutions in the world and their accepted students generally showcase exceptional academic performance. There is no hard and fast 'GPA cutoff' but the average high school GPA of Stanford's admitted students tends to be above 3.9 on a 4.0 scale. This means that most successful applicants have predominantly A's with possibly a few B's on their academic transcript.

However, it's also important to note the University's holistic admissions approach. This means that while the GPA and academic record are an important factor in the admissions process, they are not the only elements that will determine your admission. Stanford likes to see rigorous coursework (AP/IB classes, etc.), strong test scores (if submitted), excellent letters of recommendation, compelling essays, and meaningful extracurricular activities.

Remember, GPA is just one aspect of your application. It’s important to continually challenge yourself academically and stay involved in high-quality extracurriculars to demonstrate your commitment and leadership skills. If your GPA is slightly lower, don't be discouraged; focus on other parts of your application that display your strengths and uniqueness instead.
