What SAT scores does Purdue usually accept?

Hey guys! I've been checking out Purdue University as an option and recently got my SAT score back. I'm curious to know what the average SAT scores are for students who get into Purdue. Is there enough time to retake the SAT before applications are due? Thanks for the help!

As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Purdue University has reinstated its standardized testing requirement, meaning that they require either SAT or ACT scores to be submitted with your application.

While each year can vary a bit, historically, the middle 50% SAT scores for admitted students at Purdue have ranged from roughly 1210 to 1450. The middle 50% is simply the range where the 25th to 75th percentile of accepted students fall, not a requirement or a 'cut-off'. It's always important to remember that admission to colleges like Purdue is not determined solely by test scores, they take into account various other factors such as grades, extracurricular involvement, and essays.

In terms of retaking the SAT, test dates and deadlines do vary. The College Board offers the SAT several times a year, usually in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. You'll need to check the next available test date and see if it fits into your timeline. Typically, you'll want your scores ready by the time you submit your application, and Purdue's Early Action deadline is November 1, while their Regular Decision deadline is January 15. Just make sure you leave enough time for your scores to be processed and sent to Purdue; it usually takes about 10 days from your test date for your scores to be available.

It's a smart move to strive for the highest score possible but remember to balance this with the other components of your application. A well-rounded application, in which you demonstrate your capabilities both academically and personally, can help to enhance your chances of admission. Good luck with your preparations!
