Average SAT scores in Floridian universities

Anybody has an idea about the SAT score ranges for universities in Florida? I'm thinking of applying to a few down there and I'd like to know where my scores would land.

Sure, I can provide you with a list of a few popular universities in Florida and their middle 50% SAT score ranges from the 2023-2024 applications cycle. However, keep in mind that these scores are not cut-offs, and admissions offices consider many factors beyond just test scores. Here we go:

1. University of Florida: 1320-1470

2. Florida State University: 1250-1380

3. University of Miami: 1340-1450

4. University of Central Florida: 1200-1340

5. Florida International University: 1060-1240

6. University of South Florida: 1140-1330

7. Florida Atlantic University: 1050-1210

These numbers represent the middle 50% range, which means 25% of admitted students scored below this range, 25% scored above it, and the remaining 50% fell within this range.

While being within or above this range will boost your odds of acceptance, no score will guarantee admission, and being below this range doesn't automatically equal rejection. Apart from test scores, universities look at factors like your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation as well. So, you'll want to make sure these other areas are strong, regardless of your SAT score.

If you want to know how your application as a whole stacks up at a particular Florida school, I'd check out CollegeVine's free chancing engine, which accounts for all quantifiable elements of your application, including not just test scores but also GPA, course rigor, and extracurriculars to give you personalized odds of acceptance at over 1,600 colleges around the country: https://www.collegevine.com/admissions-calculator

This tool will also give you suggestions on how to improve your chances, whether by raising your SAT score slightly or some other step, like earning a leadership position in one of your extracurriculars.

Good luck with your applications!
