How to Get a Refund for My Scheduled SAT?

Hey guys, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I won't be able to sit for my upcoming SAT. Does anyone know the process of getting a refund? Is it even possible? Would appreciate your experiences and suggestions...thanks in advance.

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to take your scheduled SAT. Regarding your query, it's important to note that the SAT has specific rules around refunds.

The College Board, the organization that administers the SAT, will refund your test fee, deducting a cancellation fee. As of August 2024, the cancellation fee is $25. This means you’ll receive the amount you paid for the SAT ($68) minus the cancellation fee ($25). However, if you used a fee waiver to register for the SAT, you won't receive a refund because you didn't actually pay any money to register for the test.

To cancel the test and get a refund, you should contact College Board Customer Service at least five days before the test date. You can do this by phone, mail or online through your College Board account. Keep in mind that the amount refunded will take several weeks to process.

Remember to check your mailbox for the refund, as it will be mailed with a cheque in the name of the person who made the payment. If the payment was made by credit card, the account associated with the credit card will be credited with the refund.

I hope this helps! Best of luck with your future plans.
