I’m currently a junior and I’m starting to look at colleges. I heard Westminster College in PA has a really tight-knit community and I’m wondering if there are other small colleges like this in the U.S. that maybe focus on the liberal arts?
Hi there! It's great to hear that you're beginning your college search and already know some of the qualities you're looking for in a school. For colleges with a strong sense of community, especially those that emphasize liberal arts, I recommend starting your search with the Colleges That Change Lives (CTCL) organization. These schools are known for their supportive campus environments and dedication to undergraduate education. Another useful approach is to visit campuses, if possible, and talk to current students about their experiences. This can give you a real sense of the community at each school. Don't forget to look into student-to-faculty ratios and the availability of small, discussion-based classes, as these can also be indicators of a close-knit atmosphere. Best of luck with your search!
