Hi y'all, I'm soon to be taking my ACT and one of my dream schools to apply is Rice University. Does anyone know what ACT score they require? I want to set a goal for myself.
Rice University does not have a minimum ACT score requirement. However, the middle 50% of accepted students typically score between 34 and 36 on the ACT. This means that 25% of students score below 34 and 25% score above 36.
Scoring in this range or higher doesn't guarantee admission, but it does mean you are statistically competitive. Keeping in mind, Rice University has a holistic review process, which means they consider other factors of your application like your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation, not just test scores. Therefore, a lower ACT score doesn't necessarily mean you'd be rejected, especially if the other parts of your application are strong.
Researching the average score range is a good way to set a target to aim for, but remember that meeting these benchmarks alone won't guarantee your acceptance. Good luck on your exam!
