Postponing SAT test: is it possible and how?

Hey there, anyone know how I can postpone my SAT test? I feel a little bit overwhelmed with the preparation and I think I could do with more time to get ready. Anybody have experience with this or some advice to offer?

Of course, it's quite common to want to postpone your SATs. The good news is, you can most certainly do this. The College Board does provide the option to change your test date. Here's a brief outline of the steps you should follow:

1. Go to the College Board website and sign in to your account.

2. On your dashboard, you will see 'Upcoming Registrations.' Choose the appropriate SAT test registration that you're intending to change.

3. Click on 'Change Registration' and select 'Change Test Date.'

4. The system will prompt you to select a new test date.

Keep in mind that there are fees associated with changing your date. However, this fee is waived for certain categories of students, like those eligible for an SAT Fee Waiver.

Don't forget to double-check the deadlines to switch your test date. Each test date has an associated deadline for changes, which is typically about 2-3 weeks before the original test date, but this may vary so it's best to confirm on the SAT website. It's crucial you make this change before the deadline, otherwise, you won't be able to change your registration.

Lastly, remember that changing your test date means you'll have to choose another testing center, which may or may not be the same as your previous one. If the one you initially chose is full on the new date, you might need to select a different location, so keep that in consideration. That aside, take advantage of the additional time to prepare well and don't let the stress overwhelm you. Best of luck in your preparations.
