What is the highest score one can achieve on the SAT?

This might seem like a basic question, but I wanna make sure I've got it right – what's the highest score you can get on the SAT? I've seen different numbers floating around and it's a little confusing. Appreciate any help clarifying this.

Your confusion is quite understandable since the scoring system for the SAT has changed a few times over the years. As of 2024, when the SAT became fully digital, the highest possible score you can achieve on the SAT is 1600. This score is the sum of your Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections, with each section being scored out of 800 points. This score does not include the optional Essay section, as that was discontinued in 2021.

Hope this clears up your confusion! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
