Is a 34 on the ACT equivalent to what score on the SAT?

So I got a 34 on my ACT! Woohoo! But honestly, I'm not exactly familiar with how this translates in SAT terms. Do universities consider them equal or is one valued more? Also, does anyone know what my ACT score translates to in the SAT scale?

Firstly, congratulations on your high ACT score! The ACT and SAT are standardized tests that are viewed equivalently by most colleges and universities when processing applications. As a point of reference, a score of 34 on the ACT is approximately equivalent to a score of 1500-1530 on the SAT. This general conversion can vary somewhat based on the specific year's percentiles each test uses for scoring, but it serves as a useful guide.

Regarding your question about one being valued more than the other, rest assured that most schools don't favor one test over the other. However, I would recommend you to check the testing policies of the individual schools you're interested in since some schools require specific tests or have a preference.

Bear in mind, though: while your test scores are important, they are just one part of your application. Other factors such as your GPA, rigor of academic course load, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation all play significant roles in the admissions process too.

In the end, your ACT score is excellent, and it will certainly be viewed favorably by college admissions offices. Keep up the good work!
