SAT Refund Queries

Hi, does anyone know how the refund policy for the SATs works? I signed up for an exam but had a family emergency and couldn't attend. Is there any chance I could get my money back or at least a part of it? Thanks all!

From my understanding of the College Board's policies, they unfortunately do not offer full refunds if you've already registered for the SAT but didn't take it. That being said, if you purchased any additional services, such as the Question-and-Answer Service (QAS) or Student Answer Service (SAS), you should be able to receive a refund for those if you didn't take the test.

As for your actual registration fee, if you missed the test due to a medical emergency or other extenuating circumstance and have documentation to support it, the College Board may consider transferring your test registration to a future date free of charge. This isn't guaranteed, and is typically evaluated on a case-by-case basis, so you should reach out to the College Board's customer service for more information.

Remember, though, if you choose to cancel your registration before the cancellation deadline, you can get a partial refund of $29. The $68 registration fee, unfortunately, is not refundable.

Do keep in mind that policies might vary over time and depending on your specific circumstances, so it's always best to contact the College Board and seek clarification.
