What GPA does Holy Cross require to get admitted?

Good evening everyone! I've been eyeballing Holy Cross for my college app list. My GPA isn't bad but it's not super high either. Does anyone know what's their admission GPA benchmark?

Hello there! Colleges typically don't have a "required" GPA for admission, including Holy Cross. However, Holy Cross is quite competitive, and to increase your chances of admission, it's good to strive for a strong academic record.

To give you a sense of what previous applicants have had, the middle 50% GPA range of admitted students tends to be around 3.6-4.0 weighted. This means that 25% of admitted students had GPAs below 3.6, and 25% had GPAs above 4.0.

But keep in mind, your GPA is just one part of your application. In addition to your GPA, Holy Cross will take into consideration your course load rigor, my recommendation would therefore be to challenge yourself with AP or IB classes, while still maintaining a strong GPA.

That being said, if you fall slightly below the typical GPA range, your application could still be competitive if you demonstrate other strong qualifications such as outstanding extracurricular achievements or a compelling personal essay. All the best!
