ACT requirements for Clemson University

I'm really keen on applying to Clemson University. What are their ACT requirements like? Do they have a specific cutoff, or is it more about your overall application?

Clemson University, like most universities, does not have a hard cutoff for ACT scores in their admissions process. They consider a variety of factors in reviewing a candidate's profile, such as GPA, the grade trend, rigor of the high school curriculum, leadership and extracurricular involvement, community service, and so on.

As for ACT scores, for the 2023-2024 application cycle, the middle 50% range of admitted students had ACT scores between 28 and 32. This means that 25% of Clemson's admitted students scored below 28, and another 25% scored above 32. While you could still be admitted with a score lower than 28, a higher score will definitely strengthen your application.

That being said, this doesn't mean that students with an ACT score within or above this range are guaranteed admission. Consider it as a guideline, and remember, the university evaluates applications in a holistic way, so the other parts of your application are critical too! Additionally, as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Clemson University is test-optional, so submitting scores is not a requirement.

Continue working hard on all components of your application, not just test scores, and best of luck! Let me know if you have any other questions about Clemson or the college application process.
